Just got back from my WIC appointment and instead of putting my son who will be one years old feb 3rd on whole regular milk ...they suggested i keep him on formula for another 2 months which i wanted to do anyways....The reason why is because he will not CHEW his food, he will swallow it whole so he gags and vomits unless it is easy baby food to swallow...he is obviously not ready....she told me instead of giving him baby 3 foods to just put whatever we make in a blender for him but me and my boyfriend have take out every night as its easier cause he does not get home til 9 pm.....so it baby 3rd foods just as good?.

Silly people making so much trouble out of raising children, as though they'd break if you looked at them the wrong way. Kids are tough; treat them with common sense and love, and they'll grow up just fine.
Basically: your mommy instincts are right.
Baby food is meant to be nutritious for babies, and a 1 year old is a baby. It will still be fine for him. He's only one year old--many babies are still nursing at that age. Don't push him before he's ready.
After all, what is baby food? That's right--mushed up adult food. When they say you need to use a blender, they're just asking you to make your own baby food! Silly, neh?
You are not depriving him if you still feed him baby food. He can go straight from that to normal food, cut up small--no blender necessary. You can give him food that is supposed to be mushy--mashed potatoes, some soups, yoghurt, hot cereal... There are a lot of possibilities.
Keep his diet varied, of course, whether you feed him baby food or try to get him started on normal food.
Baby formula is usually suggested for young children; milk, nutritious as it is, is often hard to digest. It won't hurt to keep feeding baby formula; but do get him used to drinking it from a cup.
Just give him regular chances to try chewing food; he should get the hang of it eventually. Finger foods help before he learns to handle a spoon.

Well.....here's a question for you. When he IS ready for table foods, what do you plan to do then? Will you still be eating take-out all the time? Maybe think about what you'll be doing when he is ready to eat what you eat and see if you need to make some changes to your own eating habits. I mean, when you say take-out are we talking fast food every night? Get a crockpot. It makes meals quick and easy. Or start cooking for yourself and your child and your boyfriend can have leftovers when he gets home. An 11 month old SHOULD be able to handle the foods you mentioned. He probably DOES have a medical problem and you need to address it with your doctor.
ETA:
Your doc's diagnosis of "lazy" is your DOCTOR being lazy. It's probably the doc's lame way of saying, "I don't know the answer." March back into that office and tell him you are camping out there until you get a REAL answer.

I have 3 children and my 2 youngest are 4 and 2 and they too also have problems chewing and swallowing. I was told they have sensory problems and diffrent textures really bother them. You should consider seeing a speech therepist. I take my children to one and they help with ideas on what you can do. I dont think its because hes lazy. My children have low muscle tone and even in there mouth. Just keeping working with him and eventally he should inprove. My son the 2 year old always threw up too but he also has food allergys that we just found out.

Kids do everything at their own rate. No 2 are ever the same. The only thing you need to watch with the jars of food are the size of lumps in it. Stage 3 do have lumps so if he doesn't chew it may be a problem. What I did with mine as my husband never got in till late. I spent a sat making tonnes of food blending it or mashing it so there are a few little lumps and then putting it in ice cube trays and when frozzen putting them in a zip lock bag, so when i needed food I justed heatd up so many food cubes. You can make it with no lumps , small lumps whatever.

My gosh...an 11 month old isn't lazy!!!!!!!
It sounds like the person who won't fix him the kind of food he needs is the lazy one. Just because fast food is easier for you (do you work and get home late too?), doesn't mean you can't go to the store and get him adequate, nutritious food.
Go to his pediatrician and tell them he cannot seem to handle swallowing foods. You say he doesn't have a medical problem, but it sounds as though he has some sort of mechanical problem. An 11 month old should be able to swallow cereal, pasta, soft meats like meatballs, soft veggies, canned/soft fruits.
Also ask your pediatrician for a list of foods a 1 year old should be eating. If all you eat is fast food, I doubt you truly understand proper nutrition. Get some help, for the sake of your baby.

You buy take out every night and you get WIC? How can that be right? If someone can afford fast food every night , surely they can afford the buy eggs and milk.
The other poster is right..get a crockpot. 10 mins of prep is all you need to make healthy home made meals.
