Does anyone know of any home treatments for a cat with an upper respiratory infection. I know I need to take her to a Vet but I don't know when I'll be able to get her in. Is there anything I can do to help her until then?

You can use a humidifier to help and give her some vitamins like Nutra Cal.

I have quite a few cats and have had the problem that they keep infecting each other. My vet said to feed them canned food, they can't smell dry food and won't eat it. As long as they are eating and drinking they should be ok.

Antibiotics don't cure them, it just helps them from getting sicker and developing pneumonia. An upper respiratory infection is like a cold in humans. Antibiotics don't really do any good to cure it. I had one that got dehydrated severely. she was at the vet for a couple of days and ended up costing a few hundred dollars.

It's best to get to the vet if you can. If you can't afford it, make sure they are eating and drinking. If they are not, you've got to get some antibiotics from your vet.

There are no home remedies for URI. It is an infection and needs to be treated ASAP or it can get very bad. The cat can become dehydrated or stop eating since they cannot smell the food, and that can result in "fatty liver disease" and can be fatal.

I am sure the vet can get you in soon if you call.

If she has an infection, she needs antibiotics.
