Yeah they work man, i take em. Try Optimum Nutriotion Whey Protein. I think that tastes the best. It helps your muscles grow. Don't go crazy on it though, too much of anything is bad, like food. Just try to have one shake a day, maybe 40-50g's. (150g a day is good) Good luck.

Contrary to popular belief, unless you are an athlete and training hours a day then a well balanced diet will provide more than enough protein for anyone doing a normal work out. It's all because of a lot of hype and marketing that the general public thinks that they have to use these products to build good solid, lean muscle mass. This is simply not true. However, if you ARE a serious athlete then the best time to take the supplements is immediately after the workout because it's during the reconstructive phase that your body needs the additional protein. As to which kind to use, it doesn't matter as long as they contain good quality whey proteins. I use a product called Muscle Milk. It's a little high in fat but it's a specially engineered fat that burns up as energy instead of being stored in the body.

Oh yes they do work you need to buy some powdered whey and mix your own shakes you will need to drink or consume at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day for it to be effective. If you just want weight and not muscle mass and muscle weight try the old people drinks like Boost or Ensure they will also put weight on your bones but it will also slow you down whereas the whey will not.

********! They don't work! And in fact, how could anyone prove that they do work? When you make a protein shake, you're basically putting this flavored powder into a glass of water or milk. So basically, you're feeding your muscle WATER, which is what muscle needs to grow, and the protein powder is burned away by your kidneys and liver, whom don't need to do all this extra processing work...
You'll end up pissing your money away.
$$$ = "protein powder" => In your system => Liver says, "Nah, don't need this crap, hey kidney, will you flush this sh1t out?" => and kidney says "damn, I'm over-worked here already, but I guess I got no choice!" => protein is expelled in your urine => toilet.
So $$$ = toilet
Dude, I'll take your money anyday... just as fast as these protein manufacturers will... and they themselves have brainwashed themselves to believing it will work as well as millions of donkey consumers... just like the donks that said, yeah it works and buy this...
