Ok this might be a dumb question, but my Dr. gave me a presciption for vicodin of 30 pills to take as needed for my back injury. I filled it about a week and a half ago and still have some left but I think I will need a refill by the end of the week. Is there a timeframe on when the pharmacy can refill it? I don't want them to think I am some kind of a pill popper by asking for them too early! I will wait if I have to, I am just wondering if anyone works at a pharmacy or knows if there is a certain date that I have to wait for before refilling.

It all depends on how he wrote the script. If he wrote it for one (1) pill three (3) times daily as needed for pain you would beable to get it in 10 days. After you got it filled. If it was enough for one a day then you'd have to wait a month. If there is still any confusion I'd call my pharmacy and talk to them and ask when your insurance will pay for them again.

hope this helps.

It's not up to the pharmacy. Vicodin is a schedule II drug. If you call the pharmacy for a refill, they would have to call the prescribing doctor and get an ok from the doctor to get you the pills. So if you call the pharmacy for a refill, they will call the doctor and its up to the doctor if you get the painkillers or not. Hope this helps!

Where I come from there is a note on the prescription which says if you need to refill this before .... (a certain date) see your doctor. It depends on how many you can take in a day maximum. You should be able to refill it by now.
