First, don't park him in front of the TV. Second, he's too young for organized sports. Third, take him outside and play with him, go to the park, the yard, whatever.

Take a ball, let him throw it, kick it, run with it. Let him be a kid don't push him to perform, he's not going to get the 'rules' of a sport yet. Just go with the basics, running, throwing (probably too young to catch yet), playing tag.

Oh, and watch out for the picking up heavy stuff, I did that and ended up with hernia surgery @ 3 years old.

aww thats awesome!!! Start off right now by playing catch with him, as good as you can. I have a 4 year old and mine was the same way!! Play some things at home with him until tee ball starts off... or even tumbling. I know my husband said tumbiling is not a "boy sport" lol but it works. hes young so its not like if he is in gymnastics at 15 months old hes going to grow up to be a hairdresser and do nails for a living. I mean really!!! When hes old enough to get him into some things do it!. I started my son out in karate at 2 and he loved it!!! Hes in baseball, soccer and football now!

He is too young to play any sports, despite how he is strong (leagues go by age). If I were you, I would suggest taking him to a toddler gymnastics class (sometimes just "gym" class). They set up obstacle courses to climb on, play basketball and some other sports, all in fun, (because a one/two year old can't really play those games yet), and sometimes just play around on the equipment they set up each week (its so cute to watch!). I know the YMCA offers these classes and I am sure you can find similar ones in local gyms. Good Luck!

Most 15 month olds don't really care much about the television. He is a great age for taking to the park and letting him explore and get a good handle on how he can move his body. The park can also teach him how to relate to other children. If you are in a cold-climate - look for something indoors - there are lots of great programs.

Personally, I think that he is too young to play sports right now, but when he gets older you could let him play teeball or soccer. My nephew is 6 and he plays soccer and he loves it. He has been playing since he was 41/2 years old. For right now, you might consider taking him to someplace like the Little Gym which is for kids of all ages. They have all kinds of activities for kids to do and since your son seems to be active, I think that he would like it there, because he could run and play and work off some of that energy that he has.

You can't even determine at this age what his interests will be. Not all boys like to do sports. He is in Awe of the TV because they are real people in a box in his mind.

He's just a baby and it's way too early to tell what specific sport to put him in. When he's old enough to take an interest in sports, you won't have to ask us what sport is best because he'll be able to tell you on his own.
