If you're talking about cell phones, you usually have to pay for that. I've had pretty good luck just using Google a phone number to find out who's calling. If you are researching a quantity of numbers, though, I suppose, you might want a service. I can't imagine why the average person would need to research a quantity of numbers, though, so I assume this is business-related, and it then seems only fair that you pay for a service. But maybe it's not.

Not sure what you mean by 'track' them.

If you go to Say No To 0870 it will give you the alternative landline number if there is one and tell you what the number relates to - the last one for example is Barclaycard Lost and Stolen Cards Helpline.

Generally speaking be careful about ringing these numbers to find out.They may be premium charged numbers wanting you to phone back.Dont.If their calls were important they will phone you.Be patient.
