I'd say since the first time. But it gets funnier every time.

Who would you consider to be a reliable source for this information? I mean if I say :
Jesus is coming now.
Now.
Now.
Now.
Wait.
Now.
Now.
Wait.
Now.
Only joking.
I don't think this will have a great effect on the Christian world whereas if the Pope were to say "JC is going to be here at St Peter's Square tomorrow at 4" then obviously more people would listen/plan an attack on St Peter's square.
So, in summary, people will always make fun of Jesus' return. People made fun of Jesus part 1 and crucified him for making such a ridiculous statement (ie. "I am the son of God") so it's not really that odd that a couple of thousand years later with all that we've learned since then, we're still kind of sniggering at the idea of someone who is the son of God actually wasting his time mingling with arseholes like us.

Never. (I am speaking of when God's Kingdom removes all human kingdoms and takes over, not about Jesus' return.)
Habakkuk 2:3 - "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."
So even if it seems to be late from our human view it will be right on Jehovah God's time schedule.
Just like people ridiculed Noah in his day, today they ridicule those who are trying to help others realize the urgency of the times in which we live.
2 Peter 3:3-6 - "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished."

Here's something from the
2nd Epistle of Peter Chapter 3 verses 3 to7
3 First of all, I want you to know that in the last days men will laugh at the truth. They will follow their own sinful desires.
4 They will say, "He promised to come again. Where is He? Since our early fathers died, everything is the same from the beginning of the world."
5 But they want to forget that God spoke and the heavens were made long ago. The earth was made out of water and water was all around it.
6 Long ago the earth was covered with water and it was destroyed.
7 But the heaven we see now and the earth we live on now have been kept by His word. They will be kept until they are to be destroyed by fire. They will be kept until the day men stand before God and sinners will be destroyed.
Hope that helps..

You can make fun of anyone who has formally published a date (I believe the 7th Day Adventists did once). Anyone from that group who believed and prepared for such a date is subject to be made fun of.
Most people believe in the general concept, but not an imminent specific date.

You can make fun of the people all you want, but we all make mistakes. The concept is really there in the Bible. The people just need to read the part about how the day and hour nobody knows except God, and how it will come as a "thief in the night" - meaning unexpectedly or like a surprise.

The Bible says in Matthew 24:36 that "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father." Therefore anyone who attempts to make such a prediction is not knowledgeable of the scriptures.

Though it is certainly not something of which to make fun, the Bible specifically speaks against those who would try to guess the date of the Second Coming.
Mark 13:32 "But concerning that day or that hour [of the Second Coming], no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
Therefore, it is futile and forbidden to try to guess the hour of the coming of Christ, because only the Father knows that hour.

This ridicule is well due... due to the fact that Christian leaders are so arrogant that they set time frames for his coming. This tragedy happens time and time again when the pride of men take precedence over the WORD OF GOD. We are supposed to look at the signs of the times for his coming and not dates and times. This comes, sadly, from mans ignorance. I have no defense for date setters, nor will I try to convince any scoffers of his coming. For God has let them believe the lies of their own hearts and turned them over to reprobate minds. I believe Christ is coming soon, but "not even the Angels in Heaven" know when he will return.
I will say this, that the end will not come until EVERY PROPHECY in the BIBLE is FULFILLED! When this is so... he will come. Not before....
To all my beloved brethren in Christ Jesus...... STOP SETTING DATES!

Jesus said: The sign of Jonah was all the people would be getting, when they asked for a sign of His return.
Jonah preached the end of the world to the Ninevites (Germans/Europians/Non Jews), and then - - - - - nothing whatsoever happened!
It is man that is setting dates and times, ridicule them when it does not happen when "they" said it would. Gods thoughts are not mens thoughts. Never the less, Jesus will not be mocked forever, I'm sure.

well...the Bible says that nobody knows the date, so I'd say you're allowed to make fun of any assumed dates of Jesus' return before it actually occurs.
