It usually is 2 grams, but you really should call your Dental or Medical office to ask them which amount is appropriate for your specific condition or MPV. Treatment of this is not something that you should take for granted or rely on others to advise you of. I would feel a lot more comfortable with your calling. Good luck!

I take 600 mg of Clindamycin one hour before dental work but, there are different meds and dosages that can be given. I have attached a link for you to read from the American Heart Association.

If you are not allergic to Amoxicillin you take 4 tablets of 500mg (or 2 grams) one hour before your appointment. You do not take another dosage after the appointment, unless your prescribing doctor has told you to do so for reasons other than what the American Heart Association recommend.

If you are not allergic to Penicillin. Usually you take a dose before your appointment and a couple of hours after your appointment. If you are allergic your Doctor can prescribe a anti bx that you can tolerate.
