My ex has never been faithful to any woman and this weekend he mentioned he had cheated on his current (live-in) girlfriend Friday night (and by the sounds of it he almost got caught by her). His gf is a sweet girl and is great with our son. I'm glad he's with her, but hopefully she's a strong enough woman to leave him if she knew. It benefits me to have them stay together, but if I were in her shoes, I think I would want to know. I know, though, that telling her will create drama. Should I tell her or keep it to myself?

I wouldn't say anything this time.
HOWEVER.
This is the best way to handle this situation. Tell your ex, that you do not want to hear from him that he is cheating because you like his current girlfriend and it makes you feel bad for her. Tell him that if he ever tells you that he cheated again, you will tell her.
That way you have properly warned him about running his mouth to you about cheating, and it also should put him on notice that he cannot say and do what he wants and get a free pass.

Don't tell her. She will be mad at you in the end. What you do though, is get her to catch him. Accidentally record his confession on your answering machine and when she comes over, check your messages. Or go to the bar with her that you know he's going to be at. Do something like that. She does deserve to know, but if its his ex that tells her, she may think you're just trying to break them up.

Keep it to yourself. More than likely he is going to deny it and say that it is your way of either getting back at him or your way of trying to get him single so you can have him. If he is cheating she will eventually find out and you and her can remain friends. If you tell her, and you value your friendship with her, then you may not have that friend.

Keep it to yourself. Maybe it's only a one-time thing. Hopefully it won't recur. Why men do this I don't know... But you can give your ex a great time of hell threatening him to tell her..

I would keep it to myself. It is not your business. It's strange that your ex told you he cheated... makes me wonder what his motivations are. Regardless, it really isn't for you to get wrapped up in his relationships. Your focus is your own home, your life, and your son.

If you were her, would you want to know, and would you believe her if she told you? She might think you're just being jealous and trying to break them up, but if she's really a good person, she deserves to know.
