If you're in London, there's so many accents from all over the world that you would probably blend in. If you move to a smaller, more traditional English place, you might stick out more but you could also use your accent to get noticed, meet more people, etc.

You can make a conscious effort not to adopt the English accent (I am English and in Australia, so am making a conscious effort not to get an Australian accent).

Or you could have elocution (speech) lessons to get the accent you want. An English accent is particularly useful in the world of business.

People over here will love your accent, so don't worry and be happy!! There are some great things to do in this country along with great people, my wife moved from South Africa and had the same fears.... now she would never move back!!

Dont worry about moving. UK is a wide mix of cultures and accents. Besides, anyone who says you dont fit in because of how you speak is an ignorant twit, and should just be ignored anyway.

if you stick to london you will only feel out of place if you do not have an accent. as for the rest of the uk, they can be a little bit bigoted against the french/americans but i dont think its too bad. i think its easier if you are a guy 'cos then all the chicks think you are realy dreamy

Sounds a good accent to me, I think you will be more than welcome here. I feel sure that you will blend in, the majority of us in the UK are nice people.

Depends on where you are moving too, but in general you should be ok.

We are such a mixed culture now that even regional accents are found everywhere.
