I was taking Prozac for @18mths after the death of my Mother. I only ever took 20mg a day. Weaned by taking one every other day for 2 weeks then one dose every 3 days for 2 weeks. I feel irritable, a little anxious, tired and a bit distant. I felt ready to stop but really wanted to know if this was normal!

yes thats normal! It's different for everyone so if you're concerned then it might be good for you to talk about this with your dr.
I had a huge mixture of emotions tiredness, loss of appetite and on some days craving foods, sometimes insomnia. At times it made me feel i wasn't ready to come off them, but with help and guidance I pushed through this and managed well.

I have been on Prozacs for a lot of years, I go one and off the meds all the time. I have never experienced these symptoms nor have I heard of them from any one I know of. What are the symptoms, how many mgs' are you on and how long have you been on. Also are you sure you should be going off of them. I thought a few times that I didn't need them and lasted about 3 months with out them. Elaborate a little more.

I was on Venlaflaxine,
Which is Prozac,
Its strong stuff and even after weaning yourself off you can feel strange, sick and generally unwell,
I was on it for 18 months and was ill for about 2 weeks after, and I also felt down,
But It does improve,
It depends on the original strength of your medication, and also how long you were on it,

Well done for getting well again, so many people fight this and you are not alone

After being on a high dose of a similar medication. Muscle cramps, twitching, restlessness for a long time
Good luck

Yes, it can happen each time you cut the dosage, and also when you stop taking it.
Even though this is a paxil site, the drugs give similar symptoms. (insomnia, weird zaps, irritability, digestive problems, moody, pain, etc.)

I just felt a bit blue and had headaches, but it was worth it to come off them and live my life again.
