when you want to get a dog from the dog pound/home, they come to check the size of your home to make sure it's acceptable for the dog,...what does it mean when you get a letter saying your home is not fit for a f**cking mutt!!?

What? Here you are trying to do something nice for a pooch and they say your home is not fit. So what, they think the pounds cage is better than a yard no matter what size it is. No wonder we have so many animals in their shelters. If you really want this pooch fight them on it and have them explain what they mean by "NOT FIT"?

Was this supposed to be a joke?

What it means is that the well meaning folks from the RSPCA (or your equivalent if you're not in the UK) deem your home and/or lifestyle to be unsuited to one of their animals. They reckon on this from their experience of the dogs that they rescue. There would be nothing to stop you buying a dog from a dealer, but maybe you should ask the dogs home/pound how they reached their conclusion... there may be some simple remedies that you could undertake.

That right there is the reason why you can't have one. You just called the dog a f***ing mutt.
Animals have feelings too and need special care as well.
