My son has no problem using his potty to go pee, but when it comes to pooping, he will only go in his pull-up. We know when he is "going", but he refuses to sit on the potty to finish.

Any ideas?

I agree with the other answers on here, you say he don't have a problem going pee then i guess the only reason he is wearing a pull up is in case he poops, it was the other way around with my son he would poop in the potty but as soon as i put clothes on him he would pee in them but if he was neckedd he would pee and poop all day long in the potty! lol but it all worked out!
don't put a pull up on him then see what he does or just let him run around with a long t shirt on with no bottoms then see what he does when he has to go. I don't know anything else, i am have a hard time right now with my 2nd son he just turned 2 and he has went pee in the potty about 6 or 7 times but it is different then my 1st. good luck to you!!!!! don't give up it will work out fine sooner or later hopefully sooner for your sake. lol

this may sound alittle simple, but it did work with my son......i put a calendar up in the bathroom and every time he peed or poohed on the potty he got to pick a sticker out and place it on the calendar, it took about 3 days till he was going regularly, it worked great

dont use pull ups during the day and keep them where he cant get to them. if you know when he is about to go sit him on the potty. your bigger than him. make him sit there til he goes

Go sit next to him...and be goofy with him...make sounds and faces like you are trying to go poo. When ever he does go poo in his pants..just don't change him..make sure he knows that you think it stinks so bad..and always say..you know if you go potty it wouldn't stink this bad.

Everytime he does that take him into the cold shower (not extremly cold) then tell him he would not have to be put in cold water if he does it in the potty. Im pretty sure he will learn.

Time out for it and a reward when he does. If you can stand it let him sit in it a few hours. Remind him when he does use the bathroom how nice it is to have dry drawers.

Your starting a year and a half late. Let him ''wear it'' longer than you have been and tell him how bad it smells. He'll get the idea eventually.
