I fed my dog Beneful and she smelt awful. After a few weeks I changed what I fed her. If you're dog isn't picky, that might be your best bet. If they are, try to mix the old food with the new food until eventually the Beneful is gone. Pet stores also have Pet Perfumes... you can spray that lightly on the dog and brush through.

Beneful is a low grade dog food. It is full of fillers that make your dog full. It doesn't have all the vitamins and nutrients your dog needs. I'm a dog groomer and I see this all the time. It's basically like when you eat garlic and go to the gym, you basically sweat garlic. So that's what is happening to your dog. It's sweating Beneful. Change the food. I recommend Nutro, Natural Balance, or Royal Canin. When you change food, for the first week mix the Beneful and the new food about half and half. If you don't do this your dog might have some indigestion problems. And don't bathe him more than once a month. Too much bathing can cause his body to produce more oils on his skin, making him smell even worse. In between baths buy a cologne.

Good Luck!

I'm a big fan of Nutro dog food. nutroproducts.com goes through all the benefits. But for your problem they guarantee skin and coat. They have a large breed puppy formula and all thier food has glucosamine and chondrotin in it. That lubricates joints to prevent arthritis and dysplasia especially in large dogs.

How often are you bathing Rudy? What shampoo are you using? Are there any particular allergies?

Try using an oatmeal based shampoo. It helps to moisturize the coat and helps to get the balance back which now may be lacking.

OR there are shampoos out there that help to kill odor causing bacteria. You can find that at any Petco or Petsmart.

Good Luck

Sometimes it does'nt matter how many times you wash him,
some dogs just carry an odor. There is a spray that you can
purchase from the vet only. (Forgot The Name) You can spray it after a bath or just daily. It does'nt have a perfume odor or a strong smell. It has a fresh clean smell. I SWEAR BY IT
