The people who eat kosher eat the same kinds of food as everyone else except pork. It is how it is processed and/or cooked that makes it kosher.

It is generally thought that they ate less meat than we do today. If you look at Middle Eastern food today you would find that much of it is the same things that they were eating back then. Ground chickpeas, salads, olives, grapes, raisins, nuts, etc. Grains and baked goods were common. Milk and cheese from both cattle and goats was common although not eaten at the same time as meat.

The meats that were eaten included goat, sheep, cattle, deer, etc. Pigeons, quayle, and doves were often available. I don't think chickens were in the area back then. Fish with scales and fins were also eaten.

Kosher just means according to the dietary laws, so whatever the laws were thats what they ate.
