Birds can catch colds from you or from anyone.
I'm confused by your question, I guess.
And for dude that got shat on in Mexico...LOL Pay attention to where you're walking. I have two big birds that are on me ALL the time. The last time I was pooped on was almost two years ago. You have to go to a foreign country to get crapped on...LOL That's just funny to me.

Some birds have a good diet and don't eat junk food. Birds when well taken care of eat balanced and good things such as seeds, nuts, veggies, fruits and lots of water etc... .
Some say humans catch colds not because it's cold, but because our immune system goes down when you eat or drink excessive amounts of alcohol, sugary drinks, soft drinks, eat lots of candy or sweets, not enough water and have little sleep. And basically not a very well balanced diet.
So, maybe your bird didn't get sick because you are taking good care of your bird and feeding it a nice healthy diet.

They do die from the cold some times. What kind of bird are you talking about? And they have those nice feathers to keep them warm, and if you look at them in the winter you notice that they fluff up their feathers to keep warmer. They look a lot fatter in the witner :-)

Viruses are common among birds. They will group together and search for shelter. A percentage will die from cold exposure. Have a tweet year.

a bird relieved himself on me in mexico last week and it wasnt no small bird i hope they do get sick!!!!

well you could geta thermapertch that plugs in and is warm but there feathers are also good when puffed up
