Because I sure find it insulting when you say you are going to pray that I will find it.

Well, let me put it this way. If you want to privately pray for somebody, that is between you and whomever.

But if you publicly say that you are going to pray for me to change my views I find it condscending and arrogant.

You raise a very interest line of inquiry. I know exactly how you feel. I'm agnostic/atheist, whatever you want to call it, and I can't stand when people tell me they will pray for me to find God. It's a blunt way of telling me that I'm wrong and they are right. I don't try and talk Christians out of believing. It would be insulting if I said "Well, I'll wish upon a star that you get a clue and realize religion/God is a hoax!" I don't feel that way, but my point is just that I get what you mean. Yes, it is insulting!

No I do not become insulted when someone says they will Pray for me, even if they don't believe as I do.

But if I know someone Is as you are, I am more than Happy to with hold my Prayers. Jesus said not to cast Purls before Swine, nor to give that which is Holy to Dog's !

If you don't want my Prayers, thats just fine with me !

Very good point. I have always found this offensive as a Wiccan because we do not do magick on the behalf of others without their permission. I strongly dislike how Christians presume that their faith is more correct than anyone else and we are all subject to their rules.

no I wouldn't feel insulted at all...go ahead pray those prayers because they are not in the will of God so they mean nothing....praying for others to be free from deception and to know the truth is in the will of God and they will be heard...but God will never force himself on you ever...even if you are prayed for....he will simply make sure you know the truth and what you do with that info is up to you....

It is condescending because its saying, you are not in your right mind with your thinking, here, we will pray for you so that you might think the same as us. We will assimilate. Christians are worshipping satan, thier god anyway, so it is even more insulting. Your prayer would be much better although christians would call you the anti-christ. They are decieved anyway.

I have to agree with the person who said "you can pray it but God isnt going to do it - so no pray all you want" although I might have typed it with fewer errors.

That is, ultimately, the answer god gives to all prayers. He doesn't answer any of them because he, being non-existent, can't answer them. You're picking up the phone but you're just talking to the dial tone.

Should anyone be insulted by these things. Prayer is between a person and God so it cannot adversely affect you.

by all means pray brother, as God Only deals with that which is Holy and Just...not evil in any depth of the word...so pray on My Brother in Christ...
