As someone that practices Vodou I can tell you that we do not worship Satan. We believe in one God who's name is Bondye or Good God. We honor our ancestors because they are our blood and without them we would not be here. We also serve the lwa. The lwa are spirits and they are similar to saints or angels.

Now as far as tapping into energy....what we do is ask the lwa for assistance in the things we can not change on our own. If need healing, a better job, a lover, etc. You would give offerings to the lwa. We sing and dance for them and if we are lucky the lwa will manifest through possession. Possession is entirely voluntarily. If you don't want it to happen it will not. In return the lwa help.

I have been healed of high blood pressure and chronic pain. It was something I did not ask for. It was something that happened while I was still learning about the religion. I was very skeptical of the religion at the time also. After so many positive things happening to me I am a true believer now. There is nothing evil or sinister about the religion. It is a religion that embraces love, community, and family.

If you truly wish to know what vodou is about then check out the website of the house I belong to. http://www.sosyetedumarche.com/Vodou_Info/vodou_info.html
I hope this will dispel some of the hollywood images of Vodou that are untrue. This is the reality.

I don't typically believe in voodoo, magic, witchcraft etc... but I do believe in the power of the mind. I don't believe it is satan or any supernatural being that creates this. Science has proven there are several unused portions of the brain that when one is able to open even slightly the amount of activity is astounding.
I think if somebody believes in something enough they can make it happen, or convince themselves that it has happened.
Ex: a woman who desperately wanted a baby, convinced herself that she was pregnant. Her body actually went through the entire pregnancy, even labor. The only difference was there was no baby. creepy huh? That is an actual case scenario of such things.

Yes,

Voodoo is real, suit-sayer (Not sure of spelling) is what they where called in the old testament, these are people who performed witch craft. You have to believe in evil because the bible says there is good and evil out there. Although I am a christian and I believe "No weapon formed against me shall prosper" God Bless

Sure. The Bible clearly states that Satan has power on this earth to do all kinds of things. God makes things happen to bring Glory to himself, Satan does it to be creative and attract people to his power. Satan has power but it is limited to God's power. In other words, Satan is under God's power.
