Personally i belive that the guy should ask the girl so what you should do is get a friend who knows him to ask him what he thinks of you and if he likes you, you should have said friend encourage the asking of you out.

Anyone with a boyfriend before you're 25 and establishing your own identity -- and pondering whether or not he's serious... is absolulely wasting your life. Move on, and get a guy later on. There's a ton of living from 25-45 (think about it, you've only been truly conscious for a few years, now). Worrying about 'boys' when you're 13-16 etc. is natural - but in today's age its simply a hindrance to learning, contributing to society, realizing your potential and growing out of the norms set by others. Your mom & dad (and grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc.) may have done it all right, even marrying early. But for you, you're throwing time away wondering about boy friends, when you could be reading, studying, developing business ideas, etc. Drop him and you grow girl. ( -- why not copy/paste anywhere this applies to young women wasting time/thoughts/energy?)

invite him to a party or gathering with you and his friends. Keep it social to avoid awkwardness but still allowing you and him to get some quality time together.
