The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God the one that Jesus said will come after he leaves...God promised us this in Ezekiel 36:26...it says "I will give you a new heart and put in you a new spirit that will help us to follow his decrees( it is impossible to live Holy without it)...When you except Christ in your life you receive a new spirit and he helps you to see in the spirit. In other words "Born again" The Holy Spirit is the teacher, once we are filled with the spirit the scriptures that we may never have understood before take on a new light and we begin to see. I hope this helps

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God/Jesus.. The same way my spirit is me. If I cannot be with someone physically, I will be with them in spirit so they will know I am still with them, loving and caring for them even if I am not physically right next to them. The Holy Spirit does the same. When I am away from someone, my spirit lets them know Im no further than a phone call away (in God's case, a prayer) my love will still comfort them if they realize I havent disappeared. Same with God, though His Spirit is much more profound than mine .

It's another name for God. Hence the holy part of the holy spirit.

He is the third part of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sins, teaches us and comforts us.

it's the spirit. Not a ghost, just a spirit. Think of it like energy, cosmic energy that formed the universe and all things. It never dies out.

I never fully understood that concept either. I think it's something like the thing that instills feelings of worship and reverence in people.
Sounds like a violation of free will, eh?
