I went this route at one time and came up at a lose. The junk yard will pick up, but, won't give you much in cash for the car. I got $15.00. If your car is in mint condition, you could advertise in your local paper: "Good car, mint condition, needs engine work". Shade tree mechanics look these ads over all the time, for themselves personally or purchase to sell. Good luck.

You could try putting out an add in your local paper and sell it for parts. Someone out there might be looking for either a car to get parts from or pick up and work on it as a hobby. Good Luck

There are some charities that accept donation cars "running or not in most cases". Volunteers of America is one of those charities.
VOA does pick ups of donated cars. I donated a car to VOA many years ago. It was a very neat and tidy arrangement for a car that that was fixable, but too expensive for me to have fixed.

There are lots of places. I would suggest donating it. I donated my totaled car to "cars4kids". I got a $500 tax deduction for the year, and my car was destroyed. If your is good, you can get even more for it.

Try selling it on Craigslist. People will buy it for any reason... running, wrecked, or in good running condition. Sell it for a cheap price.

If it were me, I'd invest $3500-4000 into putting a new engine in it, and then try to sell it for 6000-7000 bucks.

Two words: ebay.
I guess that's only one word, but I post it there if you wan tto get rid of it. You could call a Junk yard, and they will probably pay you for it, but you aren't going to get much.
