Religion is man-made. Religion is an institution set with rules and regulations that enslave you.
Christianity is God made. Christianity is freedom. The only rules are set by God, and not man, and those rules are intended for our good, to give us freedom, to protect our hearts.
Religion: Do this, do that, and you will work your way to heaven.
Christ: Done! Christ did it for you. Believe in Him and the One who sent Him, and you are on the true path.

Why is Christianity a "religion"?
The dictionary defines a belief in a god, deity or supernatural being as a religion. Christianity comes under this heading, so it is a religion.
Woah, we're really going backwards now. Atheism is a religion and Christianity is not?

Christians who say that Christianity isn't a religion have finally realized how truly barbaric and absurd the dogma is... but, as expected, they need to bullshit themselves into thinking that if you change the condition of the belief, it somehow justifies it.

So let me get this straight, christians - the reason it's not a religion is you believe it's true while all others are false?
Doesn't it occur to you that believers in other religions believe exactly the same?

Religion is man attempting by his own works to appease God. Christianity is God by His Work reaching down to man in Reconciliation.

I agree with Dianne C. Religion has taken truth and perverted it to make it the beliefs they want. Christianity is based solely on the word of God.

Religion is man's attempt to reach out to God or the Infinite.
Christianity is based on the idea that God has reached out to US. It's based in a relationship with Him, not in trying to appease Him.

You just answered your own question.
But ,in my opinion,I too don't look at Christianity as a religion but instead I look at it as a walk of faith.
I want to tell everyone the good news but to those who don't want to listen I'm not going to waste my time with them simply because I have my own salvation to worry about.
