Did you ever get raped and NOT press charges?

I did a long time ago and did press charges. Just curious if anyone let their rapists run free?

i was raped at 8 years old. i didn't tell my mother because i new she wouldn't believe me and 12 years later when i finally did tell her i was right. There were a lot of variables as to why i didn't tell her but i didn't know any better to tell somebody else. i was 8 and he was 13 and he was supposed to be my best friend. i figured they would think i was just mad at him.
