I like spanish, I like all the romance languages. It is hard for english speakers to understand having 2 verbs to be (ser & estar), and using verbs in past tense. It's important in the US because it is the most widely used foreign language here. It was very important to me 4 years ago when I met the woman who would be my wife, she couldn't speak English! :)

When talking about the language, English should not be preceded by 'the' (definite article). The phrase 'the English' refers to the English people. It's the same with Spanish; 'the Spanish' refers to the Spanish population. Use 'Spanish' and omit the definite article to refer to the language.
In answer to your question, yes, I do like Spanish. I think it is a lovely-sounding language. It is also very easy to learn as an English speaker. The grammar is especially simple in comparision to other languages such as German or Russian.
Also... I love the inverted question mark and exclamation mark... ¿¡

I find the Spanish language very adventurous, exciting and beautiful. It is important because it is spoken all over the world, and it makes us Brits look at a lot better around the world. We would be more accepted in other countries if we were to learn the language and respect and abide by the culture!

I enjoy speaking Spanish, however I've forgotten how to think in Spanish so as to not say an English phrase simply translated.
So, I've joined a couple of MeetUp groups which helps, and it's great to meet other people who want want learn or simply practise the spanish they know...
Also, it's not just Spain, but almost the Whooole of Latin-America!
Epaaa!!!

I like English, not "the English" because I´m not talking about one person...Just for your information, its not my intention to make you fell uncomfortable with the mistake. Since I`m concluding my advanced English course I just feel that I should give you this hint."don´t put THE in that case". By the way, I´ve been studying spanish as well as english but I´m not so good in it yet. Don´t give up( no desista) keep on learning languages (continua a estudiar mucho) and count on me, if you want (y cuenta conmigo, si asi lo desear ); In any language (en cualquer idioma) even Portuguese ( portugues tambien)
