To a degree, but not as much as bullfighting. Rodeo doesn't really hurt the animals. They may be uncomfortable for a few seconds, but hey, so is the cowboy.

helll no. Rodeo is simply a sport that involves animals and people. the horses and cattle really do enjoy there jobs. Some horses are natural buckers and love to show off thier moves - same with bulls. rodeo simply defines what a normal day on the ranch is like - rope the calves to treat them, break the broncy colts for work, simple cattle work. Rodeo is entertainment for the non-cowboys who dont' understand what it really means. as a cowgirl myself i find great pleasure in seeing the awekward looks of people who dont understand. Rodeo is not inhumane to animals. you want inhumane - jsut look around at people - gotta be the most inhumane creatures around.

animals are "living" just like fungus and trees. If you have no problem chopping down a tree since its not human, or eating a mushroom, should have no problems with rodeos being inhumane.
If you stab a dog its gonna react, so do some plants when you touch them.
Ok a bit extreme, i agree don't be cruel to animals and hell, don't chop down a tree if you aren't gonna use it.
The whole humane thing gets me upset though. People will let a caterpillar crawl on their hand because its cute, but will freak out if they see a centipede.
I'm going to far off on a tangent.
In summary, i think no, bullfighting is a bit differnet though, shoudl be what your question is about, but again i'd still say no. Cuz the point is to kill the animal in the end, so there is no point in critisizing people for killing it if its their intention.

No, rodeo is not inhumane. Most of the animals that are used are treated like royalty when they aren't working. The PETA idiots are against it, but they are just idiots.

Rodeo is not generally cruel, some of the horses are actually trained to jump out of the gaits and buck, they are quite ridable otherwise. The bulls are spurred yes, but the spurs are regulated, they are not as pointy and sharp as they once were.
The one sport I am really not a fan of is the calf roping. At least in steer wrestling they can fight back. The calf roping is just awful to me. A few kids were arrested in my city for roping a dog from their car, I don't see calf roping as much different.
