Because I think Paul is the least credible of all of the writers in the New Testament? Because I think the Gospels are exaggerated and borrowed from other mythology? Because I believe the Old Testament is merely a journal of a barbaric people who attribute the ups and downs of life to a deity?

Is that why I am angry with God, or is there another reason?

Perhaps because I have student loans....

I've got no beef with God, but I'm pretty pissed at leprechauns.

Little bastards are always trying to get me lucky charms.

Paul was the most educated of all the writers of the New Testament, and was actually the first one who ever wrote any portion of the New Testament, so of all the writers Paul is actually, historically, very reliable.

The Gospels were not based in pagan mythology because the Jews were strongly against pagan concepts. Everything was rooted, one way or another, in the Old Testament prophecies. Additionally, most of the pagan mythologies do not even have written accounts till after Christ; like I think Mithra has no written documentation until 150AD, plenty of time for them to actually borrow from Christianity. Additionally the crucifixion is a historically realistic record, and neither the Romans nor the Jews denied that there was a Jesus who performed miracles and was crucified and his followers taught that he rose from the dead; the Jews just attributed it to the work of an evil spirit.

You are probably angry with God because he did not help you in a way you wanted, or if a close person to you died and you blame God. I did that myself until I wised up.

Well, I dont know, are you angry with your creator God ?
If you think Paul was the least credible, why blame God ? King James added his texts to the Bible ! If it is not credible then King James will pay the price.
I have heard that King James was a tyrant, and that he left out important scriptures ! We can only pray for God to show us the truth.
I do not think they were borrowed from mythology, no, and the reason is that prophecies in the Bible, have always come true, and they are coming true today......see Matthew 24.
I think the Old testament are lessons to learn from.

The New Testament is CONTAINED in the Old Testament.
The Old Testament is EXPLAINED in the New Testament.
The New Testament is CONCEALED in the Old Testament.
The Old Testament is REVEALED in the New Testament.
The New Testament AUTHENTICATES the Old Testament.
The Old Testament ANTICIPATES the New Testament.
The New Testament LIES HIDDEN in the Old Testament.
The Old Testament LIES OPEN in the New Testament.
The Old Testament PREDICTS a Person.
The New Testament PRESENTS that Person.

You're angry with god because many theists can't imagine a person with no religious beliefs, so they figure that you have some negative ones instead. You just need to read the bible (no other book is necessary, afterall, it's self-supporting) and you'll turn christian. If you don't, it's not because the bible is flawed, it's because you haven't understood it.

Student loans...oh that would certainly make me angry.

I believe in most of the things in the Bible, I am a Christian. What you choose to believe is what you choose to believe.

Aside from your student loan dilema, maybe you are angry because you haven't decided what, if anything, TO believe in.

Anger is a way of telling us that something isn't right. Channel that anger productively, do a deeper study of the bible, to get clearer answers.
Either that or get a 2nd job and remove the loan debt.

No, it just means you are free to have your own opinions and beliefs. This does not make you a bad person in my opinion.

You're in the right path to atheism... keep going, we'll be waiting in the other side. Just drop the "I'm angry with god" thing... we atheists don't even believe he exists, so we can't be angry at him.

Sho-Nuff, I like you, I really do. You've made me laugh many times. But that won't prevent me from telling you the truth. I believe that you are angry with God and that's because you don't really know Him. You've known the abuses perpetrated in His name by those who claim to know Him, but as of yet, you don't really know Him.

"...depart from Me, ye workers of iniquity. I never knew you".

I do hope and pray that one day you come to know Him who loves you w/an everlasting love.

And that's the Truth!
