Surely we cannot limit God or our faith by deciding what he can or can't do ?

Much like an old tree that has many nails hammered into it and then removed, the nails may be gone but the scars remain. God forgives the sin but I am not aware of any occurrence where He altered the past. To suggest that that is even necessary is to not understand the nature of God, that He can in fact work all things to the good of those that love Him...this includes redeeming the past. I think the past is best redeemed when our cry is not for our desire, but that His will be done.

only for forgiveness my friend. nothing can change the past, its the whole lesson of life. its not limiting God in anyway, for changing the past would be neither a miracle nor beneficial. only you can change your "future's past" , if thats a term, by what you do from here on. If you look to Him to change you, its looking for the easy way out. He doesnt throw anything at you that you cant handle. We dont limit Him, just as He does not limit you.

- not erase the event or deed; but yes, pray to have the pain, resentment and anger relative to the deed/event - erased.
