First, meet with your doctor for a complete physical and discuss your goals. S/he will let you know what realistic goals you should reach for and the best way (for you) to work to reach your goals.

Second, replace all "bad" foods and beverages with healthy choices. For a weight loss program to really work, you NEED to change the way you look at food. Replace all soda (pop, coke) beverages with WATER!!! Don't even drink "diet" beverages... water, Water, WATER!!!

Third, start moving!! Set up a routine where you get your heart rate going for at least 20-30 minutes 3 times per week. You can start by walking briskly outside/inside (at a mall for example if the weather is poor).

The weight will start melting away... if you stick to a HEALTHY diet, drink lots of WATER and get your HEARTRATE up at least 3 times per week.

Be smart!! "Fad" diets don't work. They give you quick results, but in the long run they will damage your body. You need to retrain the way you look at food, beverages and excersise for the best long term results.

Best wishes!!

As a side note... I received the following joke in an email this afternoon. I just had to post it. :)

I was in Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina for my dog Lola and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog.......Duh! I was feeling a bit crabby so on impulse, I told her no, I was Starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care unit with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

Her eyes about bugged out of her head. I went on and on with the bogus diet story and she was totally buying it. I told her that it was an easy, inexpensive diet and that the way it works is to load your pockets or purse with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The package said the food is nutritionally complete, so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a tall guy behind her. Horrified, she asked if something in the dog food had poisoned me and was that why I ended up in the hospital.

I said no........I'd been sitting in the street licking my butt when a car hit me.

I thought the tall guy was going to have to be carried out the door.

Everything Laurie D. said is so true. You must change your attitude. Fitness and healthy living is a lifestyle, not just something you do to lose weight when you're uncomfortable.

Going to the gym and lifting weights will also help along with the cardio. Lean muscle tissues requires more energy to be maintained and in turn burns more calories. So up your protein intake with cuts of lean chicken, fish and beef. I replace most ground beef or sausage with the turkey variety these days and love it. Also try to limit your intake of refined carbs and sugars. Stick to whole grains like whole wheat bread, oatmeal and whole wheat english muffins. Replace white potatoes with sweet potatoes, white rice with brown, and regular pasta with whole wheat if you like!

I hope these suggestions help. Best of luck to you!

i will suggest to go to gym... or go to a doctor and ask him if he has any offers to you. But never choose a book yourself before you see a doctor because you might get a book that will ruin your body by doing diet so i suggest you consider the doc's first ;)
