John was upset I gave him a xmas present. Give me a break! Then he turns around and gets me one, which has no meaning to me. I was being me. That's what I do. I bought him a V day present. If he gets upset. Oh well. (we have been dating for one year)

well see if you have been dating for a year he shouldnt had gatten mad about it. but if he got mad, first of all,,all he wants from you is one thing SEX sencond of all he wasn't planing on giving you a present, but since you gave him one now he feels abligated to give you one in return, thats what got him upset, good luck

It is odd that John felt that way about your present to him. I don't know of any man who hates getting gift from a woman who isn't his girlfriend.
Perhaps you should ask him through someone he trusts, if you gave him the gift at an inappropriate time. After all, maybe the problem is not him, but his girflriend. Some girls often get mad at their boyfriends for receiving gifts from other girls.
Don't ask him yourself, just in case he has a girlfriend you don't know about, or if he has something against you that you are not aware of.
If he has a problem with you, then he is missing the chance of having a new true good friend. His loss, not yours.
