I'm an accountant. Yes you can, but if I were you I'd wait at least until a few days after January 31. 1/31 is the deadline for employers and others to send out W-2's and 1099's. You may have all your W-2's, but you probably don't have all your 1099's, like interest income from bank savings etc.

You can file the day you get all of your paperwork done. You don't have to wait. In fact, the earlier you file, the faster you will get your refund check because you won't have to wait for the IRS to process the millions of forms they get at one time in the middle of April.

Of course. I filed mine last week. There's no reason to put it off till April 16th if you have all your necessary documents in order. And if you're expecting a refund, you'd get it sooner.
