When I am watching the tv without the dvd/vcr player turned on the picture on the tv is fine, but when I play a video the screen turns significantly darker. Is there anything i can do for this? Thanks.

The problem is that I want to watch a movie on it. And currently, you cant see it very well b/c the screen turns dark. Is there anyway that this can be fixed.

Are you using the RF (coax) or the RCA (yellow-red-white) inputs to the TV? It sounds like you aren't getting enough signal to the TV, so maybe one of the connections is bad. If you can wiggle it and it changes (for better or worse), then it's bad. The cable would need to be replaced.
