:))) People think that if science didn't prove that NLP works, than it doesn't.
It did work for me and also for other people I know. I've read a lot of NLP books.
With NLP I became more conscious of the patterns that I use in my life and I have decided to actively stop the stimuli that led my into depression. I also have realised that my depression was mostly because of negative motivators that I have used and also by feeling bad about how I was feeling (a circular never-ending reaction). I have also learned to control some of my states and get mental training for a lot of activities.
I have been depressive for whole of my life and I stopped it for good one year ago.
But it doesn't work, you know, LOL, the science didn't proved it yet.

I have not heard it being used to address depression.
If you look at what NLP actually stands for, it is a way of controlling peoples thoughts through use of language.
Now in the hands of a reputable person, trained to look after the patients best interest's this may or may not have a benefit, but there is no scientific evidence to show that it has any effect.
However in the hands of an untrained or unscrupulous person this could be used to manipulate people into doing what the programmer wants.
There is a lot of controversy over NLP because of this.

Over the last five years I had begun to have increasingly withdraw into a downward spiral of depression..
But now with the method I can fully focus my energy and thoughts into a decisive line on how to make my life better constantly. And it works like magic! I'm beginning to attract people to me once again and things have just been looking up since then.
Helping you eliminate depression?

No it can't. It is the same as life coaching, it has no scientific validity at all. Any chancer can call themselves a life coach or NLP programmer. There are no offical certificates in this that are awarded by any sort of proffessional organisation and there is no recognised training in it. It is the psychological equivalent of a snake oil salesman, exploiting the vulnerable and gullible. Avoid.

I think it gives a person tools to diffuse emotions that come with traumatic experiences, and if coming to grips with your trauma lessens the depression, I guess you could use it for that, but I don't know of a direct corollary.
