Hi there! I'm visiting NY for the first time, and have got to try famous NY pizza and bagels. We'll be in midtown and I have no idea where anything is! Please help! All suggestions welcome.

Coronet pizza slices are big, but terrible. Only good when you are VERY drunk. I lived a block away for years there is better out there that is much closer than 111th Street.

Sorry you are going to need to leave midtown (you should anyway!). Go down to the Lower East Side (Lombardi's) for good pizza and Upper West Side (B&H) for Bagels.

Pizza -- John's Bleeker St. (has branch in Times Square) Arturo's Houston Street or any place that smells like good pizza for slices.

Bagels -- Zaro's multiple locations including Grand Central Terminal.

You should try Lombardi's pizza. It is the "first" Pizzeria in America, dating back to 1897. Here is the website: http://www.lombardispizza.com/
