Jesus H. Christ. What is WRONG with you people telling this girl her bird is going to die?!
It's molt season. Yes it's normal for the feathers to go everywhere, and to clean it up, keep your vacuum handy. It'll last from a week to two months depending on the bird. Give him extra baths (at least a couple a week) during the molt season and you may be able to get a bunch of them out in the bath.
Don't listen to these morons telling you your bird's going to die or that there's no such thing as a molt. For crying out loud!!!
(I could just smack those people...)

You have recieved two correct answers at least.
Yes, birds, do molt. It happens twice a year. I have 10 birds currently, so I feel your pain.
The best thing you can do is just keep vacuuming, it will stop. Make sure that your bird is on a good diet and has a bath available. This will make her more comfortable while her new feathers grow in. You will want to make sure to keep an eye out for blood feathers breaking. This doesn't happen too often, but it is very scary when it happens. I am including an article below about it.
After all of the feathers grow in, her wings will need to be clipped again. If you are unsure how to do this, you can take her to the vet and they can show you how to do it properly.

Yes, your bird Minnie is molting. This happens several times a year for her to get rid of her old feathers so new ones will grow in. Having feathers all over the house is just something you will have to get used to if you let her fly around. If she is in a cage then the feathers will fall to the bottom to make it easier for you to clean out her cage. Try using a small vacuum like a hand-held model like Dustbuster to get up her feathers. Other than that there is no way to stop her from molting several times a year.

All birds molt 3 times a year sometimes you notice it and most of the time you don't.
I recommend spraying your birds at least once a day or every other day with a spray bottle of water to keep themselves clean and it also forces the birds to clean and preen their feathers, in the long run your bird will turn out even more beautifully feathered.

my 4 keets molt periodically; and my 2 cockatiels do too; as long as you are not seeing bald patches, blood, or any signs or symptoms of illness its normal; what i do is i have an old bed sheet underneath the cage that i wrap up around the back of the cage and that seems to catch about 90% of the lil feathers flying around! and seed gards help somewhat to. you may want to go to a pet supplies store and by some special food for molting as it can be somewhat stressful on a bird. Good luck!! birds are fun but they can be messy lil buggers!

Molting happens naturally and most birds moult 1-2 times a year. There are foods you can buy during moulting to insure they are still getting the right nutrition. The best way to clean is to get a hand held vacuum and everyday vacuum around the cage.

Yes your bird is moulting. This happens a couple of times a year, but birds will also moult with changes of temperature,so try to keep your house, or room where your bird is, at an even temperature, and out of any draughts.Spraying your bird with TEPID water will help with her moult,as will providing your bird with a tonic. Birds are more susceptible to diseases/infections whilst moulting.
You can use a vacuum cleaner to keep the feathers down,a dustpan and brush will also help.
