Friends of mine think that I am using too much salt. I realized it so far, but I cant stop myself. I salt my meal without tasting it. I hate smelling the salt even more than the dish. Someone help me?

hmm..my body isnt craving for salt, but I long for it and I dont find it delicious without salt. I always complain from tiredness, but doctor said it s a result of malnutrition and bloodlessness.

I did the same exact thing. For some reason salt just made everything taste better!! But my boyfriend can't have a lot of salt because of his blood pressure so I had to cut down when I made food. It was a slow process but making a concious effort was all I could do. Just think of it this way, if you eat anything from a box or frozen there is a LOT of salt in it to begin with. Then think of how much more you just dumped onto it. You could be seriously dehydrating your body with all that salt!! Believe me, take the salt away and food ends up tasting better. It will just take a little while for you to adjust. Now you get to see what the food REALLY tastes like!!!

Some people are indeed 'addicted' to salt, and need more salt on their food to get the same taste. It sounds to me like you need to more or less cleanse your palate so you can actually taste the salt there. Try drinking extra water between meals. And try closing the saltshaker away during meals so you can't add extra salt.

And if you need extra help, try counselling so you can stop what has become an automatic reflex.

Good luck!

try using other ingredients on your meal that are salty, like parmesan cheese, or soy sauce, if you make an italian dish pour lots of parmesan chesse and you won't need to use salt at all, same thing with soy sauce, you can get some chicken seasoned with pepper, some garlic and soy sauce and you can put it on the oven... soy sauce will give it color and the salt it needs.
Also you can get a Complete Seasoned jar for your meals, then you won't need to add anything else.
On salads, I mix olive oil with balsamic vinegar an a teaspoon of mustard, and I don't need any salt.
I used to add lots of salt on my meals but it's not good, it made me retain water, after trying with changing salt with other "salty" ingredients I was able to loose weight.
Good luck

If your body is CRAVING salt it may be a symptom of an imbalance of some kind. Do you have any other "symptoms" like tiredness? Headaches? If so then see your doctor.

I have the same problem.
Let's both try and avoid it by throwing it away and eat our food without any.
Just think about it that it's water absorbent and is bad to our health. It only makes us fatter!

Remove the salt from your home. Then you can reach for it.
