If you steam them instead of boiling, they will never smell. This is a better way to cook all your vegetables.
The vegetables will retain all their goodness and colour so will appear more appetising even for children.
You can stack the baskets on top of each other so you are no longer using all the rings on the cooker. Save fuel at the same time.
You can buy electric steamers or one that sits on the hob from Argos for around £20. I cannot recommend them enough.

Lemon juice on hands or cut up lemon and put it in water then microwave it for 3 minutes to overpower the other smell in kitchen also good for gettin rid of curry cookin smell

Perhaps you are over cooking them, or are they already passed their best. I steam mine until they are just done and have never noticed a lingering smell, nice or nasty.

Bicarbonate of soda is useful to have in the kitchen for getting rid of smells.

if you mean from the fridge, put some bicarbonate of soda in for a few days, it'll absorb moisture and smells. then throw it away!
