If it's something where you can check the ingredients yourself Anything containing a HYDROGENATED fat or oil contains trans fats.

If you're out and can't check ingredients be aware of deep fried food, hydrogenated oil is cheaper to buy so fast food is often cooked in it. If you have a craving for fries ask what they've been cooked in. Also a lot of biscuits and cakes are made with hydrogenated fats.

Here are some items w/ trans fat. Processed food is the major offender: Most fast food fried stuff, donuts, fish sticks, Tater Tots, Nabisco crackers and cookies, some margarines still do.

As of 2006 trans fat info. is required to be on the label.

I just got a great new paperback put out by the Harvard Medical School called Eat, Drink and be Happy.
It dispels a lot of stuff the FDA and the Dairy Council promote.
