It depends. Vista is very capable and security is high. But, the increased security also means a steep learning curve for the user. Vista makes it very difficult to do things like installing software. You have to be an administor, but even then, you have a few hoops to jump through. If you have the chance to get a "free" upgrade and you can just hold onto it for about six months to a year, take it. Otherwise, I think you will have a long learning process with Vista.

It won't offer you any new features, it will use more CPU and memory, it might be a little slower. But it will look nice. If you have a powerful PC and you want to try it out, go for it.
