Use clove oil for the pain (you can make it yourself or use clove essential oil diluted in olive oil).
If you need antibiotics take antibiotics, infections are not good when pregnant. I know antibiotics are bad too, but infections can cause preterm labour if they spread to the blood.
You can also get most dental work done when pregnant, though it is safest in the 2nd trimester.
(However I had a horrible toothache once when not pregnant and they couldn't find anything. So I just suffered and used numbing creams for two weeks, then it was gone)

what is the antibiotic for? you have a tooth ache- or is it broken? chewing on or making a paste of clove(the spice) should help with the pain- and will not hurt the baby- you should see a dentist though - and if He gives you an antibiotic- just be sure to use acidophilus 4 hours after the antibiotic to replace the good bacteria in your body that the antibiotic will kill.

I lost a filling when I was pregnant and my dentist was able to work on my mouth--with permission from my ob/gyn. I had to bring him a note from my doctor. Some doctors won't giver permission before the second trimester; mine did. Check with your dentist to see if he needs your ob/gyn to approve first.
The dentist will do whatever is necessary for your toothache problem to be solved. He'll double-wrap you in lead aprons for x-rays. He can give you certain antibiotics if the tooth is infected. If it just needs to be filled, he can use plain novocaine to numb you up before drilling. I had a cap put on and I was fine.
Whatever you do, please get it taken care of. You don't want to suffer for the rest of your pregnancy with tooth problems. Also, poor dental hygeine has been said to be linked to pre-term delivery.
Good luck!

I'm not exactly sure what they will do but I had a ton of work done when I was 7 months pregnant. Let them know you are pregnant over the phone when you make your appointment. And make sure you tell them again when you go in. They will know what you are aloud to have and they might even ask for your ob/gyn's number. I hope everything turns out okay for you!! :)

No get it taken care of ASAP, because if the tooth hurts because it is rotten the bacteria can go through your blood stream and harm the baby. If you are not showing tell the dentist you are pregnant and i'm sure their is some form of antibiotic for a pregnant woman

Talk to your OB about taking the antibiotic. Does the dentist know you are pregnant ? When I worked in OB/GYN, dentists would call our doctors and let them know what is going on with our patient and the two doctors would discuss it.

Logical solution is go to the Dentist. It is possible that there is not an infection but just rather an exposed nerve.
