In general, food that is rich of calories make you feel sleepy. The reason is the digestive system would need increased blood flow to the gut to digest and absorb the intake. The liver and pancreas too need increased blood flow to perform their function in secreting enzymes for food digestion and food processing.
however, chocolates contains substances known as flavonones which can increase blood flow to the brain. Thus making U more awake.

Chocolate makes u awake and gives temporary energy but it's effect goes quickly and after that u'll feel sleepy.
I'm having exams soon too and now I drink tea to stay awake.
Read this about tea:
Tea is full of antioxidants that have been credited with numerous health benefits, including reduced cancer risk and improved heart health. Black, green, and herbal teas all are rich in powerful antioxidant flavonoids. Drinking tea regularly also may boost your immune system response.

Chocolate is a mild stimulant. It contains caffein, like coffee. Most commercial chocolate is also sweetened. Chocolate is really kinda bitter. There is sugar in it as well as caffein for a sort of double whammy.

Caffeine allows you to focus better on one task at a time, but makes you tired when it wears off.
