Kind of like how a parent is expected to provide for a child for the first 18 years of life.

Should God be expected to provide a better level of care then he is currently providing?

At the very least child support, right?

At least up until then before he starts juding us, calling us ungrateful sinners and threatening us with Hell.

You don't think he's given us enough already???

An entire planet to live on, air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink, a Sun to warm us.

And didn't he already give us his only son??? Someone that died for us and our sins?

What more do you want?!!!

He also gave us a brain to think. Perhapes we should try to use it to improve our own lives, stop wars and work for the betterment of mankind.

That was one of the best things he's done for us... He gave us free will. What we do with it is the real test.

Sort of like JFK saying, "Ask not what your counrty can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country!"

Ask not what God can do for you, but ask what can you do for God.

:)

Hmmm.... well... like every good parent God has given us food, everything we need to create a shelter, water in the way of rain and lakes and rivers etc. What more do you need.
Should Got be expected to provide a better level of care than he is currently providing? Uh ever heard of a kid in a really lovely home who just refuses to clean up his room????? Besides, don't you think you're expecting a bit much from someone you don't actually believe exists?

Every choice you make is up to you, right? Well if you are making poor choices in life then yes you probably aren't living a happy life. I believe we owe God a little something for his wonderful Mercy and for giving to us his only begotten Son. He has gifts for those who CHOOSE to believe and have faith in him. Try reading the Bible for the best answer.
Be Blessed and Rejoice in the Lord!

God owes us nothing,He created us because He wants to share His divine life with us and to have a loving relationship with Him forever,He has already given us the greatest gift possible(His Son) so that we can overcome sin and eternal death, there is nothing greater He can give us.

I believe God has provided on this earth all we need... not only in what is provided on the earth, but also in the hearts of others.

He/She has delegated that job to our parents. Like you said, they are supposed to help and guide us for the first 18 years of our lives. If the parents screw up, we are screwed too. It's not God's fault!

Ah...the arrogance of ignorance.

Nope. God doesn't "owe" us anything. He has given us everything we have. We will always be debtors. We chose to come down to this earth to be tried and tested, to suffer tribulation, to learn and to grow and to experience mortality, as harsh as it can be sometimes.

Um, he gave us his SON. Don't you think that's enough?

Read the new testament, he's not threatening us with hell - he does promise us eternal salvation if we follow the teachings of Jesus, and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

no. it is the otherway around.
we owe God something for
loving us and caring for us
God does provide for us very well.
how many meals have you missed lately?
how many illness do you not have?
how many deformities have not afflicted you?
how many other offers of salvation have you not accepted?
