Depends on what file it is...

A torrent simply has a different extension and different program to download it...

If you download song.mp3 from p2p or torrent, the file will be the same in the end...

P2P uses peer to peer connections to get files.
Torrent also is Peer 2 Peer, but only shares files from torrent users.

in torrent the file which is downloaded is broken into numerous parts so download is faster,each has an extension .torrent
in p2p the file is not broken into smaller parts.

a torrent is through the internt but a p2p is from peoples computer. but when it comes down to basics they are the same thing

a torrent could be damn slow. a p2p is much faster !
