consult a dietician.
ask about a short term, 1200 calorie per day diet you could follow.

ideally you would lose weight by determining your basic caloric needs and reducing that by 15% and increasing your exercise.

also, exercise burns calories and creates/enlarges muscles, BUT muscle weighs more per area than fat, so at first you will maintain or possible even gain a little weight, but after the muscle has formed, real weight loss will begin.

you have to burn 3500 more calories than you take in to lose 1 pound.

see here for some info:

anything that professes to lose weight quicker is likely either a diuretic (forcing water out of your system) or a stimulant (which you will have to stop taking eventually) or a laxative (which just doesn't let anything stay around in you long enough to be absorbed).

Why do you need to lose weight fast? Those that go on crash diets find that they seldom work. On the other hand, if you are already thin and want to lose weight fast, then I wouldn't recommend that you do so.
