That is a good question. I feel that there are a lot of apostate Christians. The USA will lose its Freedom and continue to be under the 5th cycle of discipline if they do not learn and apply the Word of God. The discipline started on 9/11. It is imperative that Christians use 1John1:9 and pray 2nd Chron.7:14 if we want our Freedom.
I believe in Free choice. That is what America is all about.
I also believe that Christians need to study, pray and partake of the Sacrament.
Peace out.

Christian means"Christ Like" so I say there are only a handful of true Christians(NO I am not one)!! Going to church and proclaiming Christianity does NOT make you a Christian. Living Christ like does!! I think it has changed in a bad way as more and more people pretend to be Christian or feel they are JUST because they go to a church.

Judging from the growth of mega-churches today, with our church having over 30,000 members, I would think that the Christian practice is growing tremendously. And the more people we have trying to live right the better off things are for everyone else.

In the end of last year the us population was at 300 million people. I know that 96% of people under the age of 18 are not christians. Sadly that means out off 100 teenagers, that 96 will go to hell and 4 will go to heaven...
Be the vision and be the voice for God! There are people burning in hell right now because we wont speak up and speak out.

I'd guess the majority of the US considers themselves to be "christian".
I'd say that Christianity has waned over time. Since our society seems to be sliding downwards all the time, I'd say that it's a bad thing.
It is certainly ok for more people to be Christian. Freedom of religion is one of the most important pillars upon which this country was founded.

I do not think that the polls and questionairres are accurate at all. I know that we can always use another one. GOD expects us to reach and teach as many people as we are able to. HIS SON sent out the disciples to do so in the Great Commission. Have a great week!
