I'm 15, turning 16 in June, and this guy that I'm seeing is 20. Everything was going awesome until this weekend he called me all upset about how he was deathly afraid of going to jail because of the age difference. He was really scared about everything and in the end he ended up ditching me for the date we had planned and hung up on me on the phone after he told me that i really needed to think about things and to call him tomorrow. I really like this guy and I think we could go far. My parents are completely fine with the whole situation, I've always dated older guys.. But he's coming over tonight to talk and I don't know what else to say to him. I want to be with him more than anything, does anyone know what I could say to help comfort him!?!?

God, I feel you. My first love was when I had just turned 15 and he was 21, To this day I know he loved me but ditched me because of my age. My parent's were fine with it too. Now we are both in unhappy marriages now I'm 28 and he is 34 and we are both unhappy, sticking around for the sake of our kids. I know he was my soul mate that can never be. His sister once told me that he said that he met me at the wrong time in his life. As for what to say about making him change his mind I have no idea. If I had known I would have said something, anything to make him stay a thousand times over. I hope it works out for you.

Tell him there is absoluteley NO problem in dating a younger girl. The only bad thing that could happen, is if you have sex before you reached the age of consent (which is either 16 or 18, depends on your state). So, just tell him that.
If you allready had sex, then you have to remember that someone has to press charges before the police get involved. And if only the two of you know about the sex, and none of you press charges, then there will be no police, and there will be no jail-going... get it? Wait till you're 16 (if that's your age of consent) before you start having sex. After then, it's completely legal and he can't go to jail for ANYTHING you both do willingly. im 24 and my gf is 19...still a gap of 5 yrs...but at the point of ur life that u are doing this is a bad idea. 18 should be the oldest imo

The only thing illegal would be him having sex with you. That is called statutory rape, aka having sex with a minor.
If yall have sex nobody needs to know about it.
