This has been bothering me for quite some time now. My live in bf of less than a year gives his cat more attention than he gives me. He sweet talks his cat, hugs the cat when he sleeps and says that his cat (his first pet) is considered like a son. He then tells me that he loves me more than anything in the world. I love him to death, and we're very happy together except for this little situation. It just kills me to see that the cat gets more "pampering" than I do. Anyone go through this? Should I be feeling like this? Should I reconsider our relationship because of this? What should I do?

I would dress up like a cat and purr and see if you get a reaction that way

Believe it or not, this is normal. The cat is just an animal, don't be jealous, he does love you but the cat means a lot to him, too.
Just tell him how you feel in a nice way. He probably has no idea you feel this way until you tell him. I would not reconsider your relationship if this is your only issue. Good luck

OMG - stop being like that. He likes his cat but loves you more than anything in the world. What more do you want?

If you really want more pampering, ask for it in a funny way. You could ask him if he doesn't want to pamper the other putty-tat too or something like that. He'll get the meaning.

Have you seriously talked to him about that? Guys are rarely aware of such things, honestly. Maybe he doesn't know how important it is for you. If he doesn't take that to consideration as much as you'd wish, repeat this a few times, then he may realize that you take it seriously. Good luck, and take care

I think you are making this bigger than it is. He has told you that he loves you. Lets face it, it is only a cat, it's not as though he is going to replace you with the cat! ... ... ...
