My husband and I are looking at buying a car, preferably used. We want something relatively inexpensive but with good gas mileage. We don't need something big - a coupe would be fine. Suggestions?

Saturns for sure. I have had two Saturns, two SC2's to be exact, and it only takes 20 bucks to fill up the whole tank, plus they get great milage, they are also dint resistant. Insurance is low on them too!

Get a Toyota. Those things have motors that darn near last forever. The bodies of the earlier models do give out quicker than others but that can be fixed cheaper than the mechanics of a vehicle.
As for mileage they give a good return for the litre. A real good return. I would advise a Toyota for your dollars they serve you well.

Toyota Camry in case you have children soon (or grandchildren). It's big enough to be safe, yet gets good gas mileage.
