Most people that have been drinking coffee for a long time are actually addicted to the caffeine.Ask someone that normally drinks coffee not to have any for a day....and then check how they feel.The answer in most cases....terrible headache.That would be a sign of the caffeine withdrawal.

My husband and I go through a 39 oz container of (automatic drip) coffee every week. I need my coffee. Im simply not a morning person and the caffeine gives me the kick I need.

I love my coffee Cannot live without it a little splenda and vanilla creamer and it has to be a decent coffee I use Starbuck brand coffee grounds. It is the best way to wake up. My parents never drank it they hate but I am hooked.

Well Pat, I think because for the artificial stimulation in it. I don't drink coffee though. You may ask the real Italians why... :D

For the caffeine, to perk them up. Most people anyway. My dad drinks its all day long because he likes the taste of it!

For a boost when you are tired. The caffeine keeps you going when you are exhausted by the postings of people like Secrecy Clown when he is hating on Bush in other questions.

Because it's almost as delicious as beer except but no one looks at you like you're an alcoholic if you're drinking it in the morning
