of course they can :) although if you were considering this i'd go for a shorter dress so they dont look too much like the bride!
other colours that would go with your cream and gold gown would be:
~ pale rose pink and pale orange (p.r.p)
~ pale eau de nil, pale peach and pale dirty pink (p.d.p)
~ white, mushroom and warm beige (w.b)
~ dark plum, dark fuschia and dark green aqua (d.f - but all v.nice)
~ rose beige, rose pink and grey beige (r.p)
these are all lovely colours :) next to each one ive put in brackets the colour i would personally choose as the bridesmaids dresses - the other colours i would use in other parts of the wedding!
have a lovely wedding x

It's your wedding. Go with what makes you happy and makes your wedding beautiful to you. The bridesmaid's can wear anything you want. Just think about the pictures and the videos and the balance.
I was in a very beautiful wedding once where the bride wore a gorgeous black gown, and we all wore off white dresses. (She was going to go with bright white, but two of us girls looked deadly in it, so she found an alternative.)
I have been a bridesmaid 13 times and I know I appreciate most when the bride takes into account the body type and skin tones of the bridesmaids so we all look reasonably attractive. Believe me, when bridesmaids don’t feel like fat Godzilla in their dresses it helps the day go smoothly.
Make your own rules. And do whatever you can to relax and relish in your big day.

I don't see why not--these days anything goes, really. What I would do, though, is have the bridesmaids' gowns have trim in some other color--kind of like a white gown with, say, blue trim around the waist or around the hem or neckline, that kind of thing. As for matching the cream and gold sequined gown, I agree with the suggestion of gold gowns.

The tradition of the Bridesmaid was to have several girls dressed similar to the bride to confuse evil spirits on the way to the wedding. The color White for the bride came from Queen Victoria when she married her cousin Albert. In that day every girl attending wore white. I say do what you want. If you want them wearing white let them. It is not a symbol of purity or virginity anymore.

They can, but given the bridal gown, that might be too monochromatic. Go for something in a pastel: blue, a soft rose color, or try a deep contrast by keeping the bridesmaids in a dark burgundy.

NoNoNoNoNo...stay away from white. Bride gown cream and gold, bridesmaids in lavendar, ruby red, whatever else...but white is traditionally reserved for the bride and see as competition for attention when anyone else wears white.

It is called gold sequined my dear. The bride wears white, or off white, cream etc... Normally, the maids don't. It takes away from the beauty of the bride traditionally...However, it is your wedding not ours. A color i'd go for is gold... matches your gown, and a bit ritzie!! Another color is beige, or taupe, on that line.. Congrats!

Bridesmaids are allowed to wear white at their own weddings, not yours.
A champagne coloured gown would be fine.

It is your day and if you want them to wear white go for it. One thing to remember though. The photos won't come out too good with so much light color. how about black?
