It seems to be a waste to devote so much time into trying to disprove something that they believe is a myth. And, for some strange reason, they still can not come up with any evidence for their case.

They are probably being drawn by our Father. But , he knows they wont get there without Jesus. Also, there is proof that God exists. They just do not reasearch it because they would rather dismiss it, they expect us to just give them the knowledge that we spent years finding. I for one, know that only Jesus can convince them, and get them to seek the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Our Job is to invite them. Love them anyways, and Pray for them.

i'm merely going to handle the prophecies bit: # There are various mundane strategies in which a prediction of the destiny would properly be fulfilled: a million. Retrodiction. The "prophecy" would properly be written or changed after the activities satisfying it have already befell. 2. Vagueness. The prophecy would properly be worded in this variety of fashion that human beings can interpret any result as a success. Nostradomus's prophecies are all of this manner. Vagueness works really properly at the same time as everybody is religiously influenced to trust the prophecies. 3. Inevitability. The prophecy can assume some thing that's totally almost effective to happen, which contain the cave in of a city. on the grounds that no longer some thing lasts continuously, the city is effective to fall sometime. If it has no longer, it would properly be stated that in accordance to prophecy, it is going to. 4. Denial. you'll declare that the satisfying activities befell even with in the adventure that they have got not. Or, maximum of the time, you'll ignore that the prophecy become ever made. 5. Self-success. someone can act deliberately to fulfill a first prophecy. There aren't any prophecies contained in the Bible that can't easily in good structure into one or extra of those diverse varieties. # In biblical cases, prophecies were no longer merely predictions. They were warnings of what might want to or might want to happen if issues did not change. They were meant to impact human beings's habit. If the human beings heeded the prophecy, the activities does no longer come to bypass; Jonah 3 provides an party. A fulfilled prophecy turned right into a failed prophecy, because it meant human beings did not heed the caution. # The Bible also contains failed prophecies, contained in the experience that issues God stated might want to happen did not (Skeptic's Annotated Bible n.d.). operating example: * Joshua stated that God might want to, without fail, force out the Jebusites and Canaanites, between others (Josh. 3:9-10). yet those tribes were no longer pushed out (Josh. 15:sixty 3, 17:12-13). * Ezekiel stated Egypt might want to be made an uninhabited wilderness for 40 years (29:10-14), and Nebuchadrezzar might want to plunder it (29:19-20). Neither befell. # different religions declare many fulfilled prophecies, too (Prophecy Fulfilled n.d.).

I spend alot of time here answering idiotic questions ( like this one) to help you understand that you are an idiot for believing in God. You are in total denial. You state there isn't any evidence that there isn't a God. You might as well say there isn't any evidence that air exist.
As far as your question as to why we spend so much time trying to disprove something that we believe to be a myth. Why is it that you spend so much time trying to disprove the "myth" of atheism ? You didn't think of that did you ? The reason is because your an obnoxious idiot.
We are not concerned with god. We are concerned by people trying to make us believe in god, and the ramifications of such a reckless belief. You still don't understand do you ? THAT'S WHY YOUR AN IDIOT.

The problem is, all you have is a book. Just like every other religion. They want more than a book (that all it is to them).
Now whether your faith falls under The Bible, Old Testament, New testament or The Koran(sp) etc. Atheists look at it as a great story told by men trying to justify their existence in this world. Their books (I don't have any exact titles) tell them that life evolved from primordial soup........and so on, And until they have a personal face to face with "God" and witness her power they will not believe you.
Also on the flip side of the coin, you will refuse to believe there is not a god until they take you back in time and show you evolution in progress with no divine hand waving it into existence.
As we know, neither event is going to happen. So all that is left is for them to explain their viewpoint to you just as you try to spread the word of God. All we can ask for is a rational discussion as opposed to a flame war.

Atheists are not concerned with a God or Gods. Atheists do not believe such entities are real.
We are concerned that peoples fantasies about these super aliens, and the religions concocted around these superstitious beliefs are causing real distress to others.
You say that there is no evidence for there being no God, that is true you cannot prove a negative, just as you cannot prove Santa Clause, or the Bogyman or even the flying spaghetti monster are not real.
But where is your evidence to prove that a God or Gods actually exist, that has never being proved either.
We Atheists are fed up with the lack of proof and evidence for the existence of this alien you claim is real.
May I remind you that we do not have to prove the non-existence of God, we do not make claims for it, you do. So you prove to the rest of Mankind that what you say is real. You people of Faith cannot even agree amongst yourselves as to who or what this God is.
What concerns Atheists is the willingness of people of faith to trample others freedom of choice (to believe or not, to worship or not), and rights to their own belief (or lack of belief) into the ground.
I as an atheist will fight to the death for your right to believe in what you wish, and to practice your faith in peace (as long as you do not harm others by it).
You of Faith however do not show me the same respect or are willing to practice your 'charity' by accepting that others may think differently.
I am open minded, prove to me that your God exists and I will accept it as a fact.
Can you do that?

I am not concerned with gods but with the evil people do in their name.
When theists stop flying airplanes into buildings; Killing homosexuals; Trying to stop the teaching of science; Passing laws attempting to cram their religion down other peoples throats; Threatening others with torture in order to exhort money etc. massacring entire groups such as by Jim Jones or David Koresh; Then I will ignore it much as I ignore Buddhists, Jainists, Quakers or Unitarians. But until then I see the evil religions do and stand against them.

We're not concerned with god. We're concerned with believers who claim this and that and try to dictate everybody else's lives according to their beliefs and do horrible things in the name of their God.
The burden of proof lies with the ones who put forward a claim. Theists claim there is a god, yet cannot put forward any evidence to back up that claim, let alone to back up their claim that their particular religion is the right one and all others are false. Atheists simply sit back and say "I won't believe it till you can prove it".

Like the first responder of this question said....they keep coming on here for entertainment.....that says a whole lot right there....if this is one of the things they do for entertainment then maybe that is where they should be putting their time....finding a more constructive way to spend their time....what kind of entertainment is it to go to a sight and insult and put down others who have differing opinions than they do.....Question: Is that a representative sample of what atheist stand for? Thumbs down will be my reward.

I'm not concerned with god. If all christian weren't devoting time trying to tell me why god really does exist, I wouldn't need to explain to them why I don't.
As to your second bit - prove the tooth fairy doesn't exist. Prove santa doesn't exist.
So they both exist, right?
It's the lack of any evidence FOR a god which makes a large number of atheists decide that it's foolish to worship a god that is unlikely to exist.

They aren't Matt, they are concerned with those who keep pushing God on them.
If those who say they believe in god didn't harass, try to convert, insult, or legislate against, then 98% of atheists wouldn't have any problem with theists, whatsoever.
